Dr. Prasanna V Habbu, born on 18th April 1973, did his B. Pharm, in 1995, from K.L.E.S’s College of Pharmacy, Belgaum, Karnataka University, Dharwad, Karnataka, India, M. Pharm. in Pharmacognosy from K.L.E.S’s College of Pharmacy, Belgaum, Karnatak University, Karnataka in 1997, and Ph.D. in 2009, from Kuvempu University, Shimoga. He began his teaching career as Lecturer in 1997- 2001 at BLDEA’s College of Pharmacy, Vijayapura and HSK College of Pharmacy, Bagalkot, from 2001 to 2004. Dr. Habbu has published about 75 research papers, presented about 25 research papers in national and international conferences both in India and abroad. He has co-authored 3 text books and 2 book chapters. He has 4 patents to his credit. He has received funding for his major and minor research projects worth 35 lacs from AICTE/RGUHS/VGST. He also received funding from AICTE and ICMR to organize national level workshop and seminar. He has guided 40 M. Pharm students, 3 Ph D students and guiding 03 for their doctoral thesis. He worked as member, Board of studies (UG), member of Ph.D registration committee of RGUHS. He is a reviewer/editorial board member of many national and international journals. Presently working as Assistant Editor, RGUHS Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences. As a teacher and researcher Dr Prasanna Habbu is innovative and committed. He is taking enormous interest in training undergraduate and postgraduate students on various areas of natural products, using advanced methods of extraction and isolation techniques. His areas of expertise include plants endophytes and their secondary metabolites, novel drug delivery systems for phytochemicals and Phytopharmacology.
