Dr. Basavaraj S.Patil, born on 10th june 1972, did his B.Pharm, in 1996, from KLES’s. College of Pharmacy, Hubli, KarnatakaUniversity, Dharwad, Karnataka, India, M.Pharm. in Pharmacognosy from KLES’s College of Pharmacy, Hubli, Rajiv Gandhi University, Bengalore, Karnataka in 2001, and Ph.D. in 2013, from KLE University Belgaum. He began his teaching career as Lecturer in 1996 - 1999 at KLES’s College of Pharmacy, Gadag and from 2001to 2007 worked as lecturer at BLDEA’s college of pharmacy Bijapur and presentaly working as Professor since from 2007 to till date in Department of Pharmacognosy and phytochemistry at Soniya College of pharmacy Dharwad. He has published about more than 20 research papers, presented about 20 research papers and oral presentation in national and international conferences in India. He has received funding for his major and minor research projects worth 9 lakhs from RGUHS Bengaluru. Received best oral presentation (1st prize) award, UGC – SAP sponsored National conference on Recent trends in chemical and Biological sciences, 30 - 31st March -2010 held at Kuvempu University, Shankarghatta, Shivamugga. He has guided 26 M.Pharm students. As a teacher and researcher Dr. Basavaraj S. Patil is innovative and committed in academic and research. He is taking keen interest in training postgraduate students on various areas of medicinal and aromatic plants. His areas of expertise include Phytochemical investigation and pharmacological screening of natural products for various biological activities.
