Dr. Pavan Walvekar, a distinguished scholar in pharmaceutical sciences, completed his B. Pharm in 2012 from SET’s College of Pharmacy, Dharwad. Since 2014, he has been an integral part of the faculty at SET’s College of Pharmacy, serving as both Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics.
Dr. Walvekar's academic journey is marked by his prestigious scholarship from the College of Health Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa, where he earned his PhD in 2019. In 2021, he was deputed to expand his research horizons to undertake postdoctoral research at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.
An accomplished researcher, Dr. Walvekar has authored over 15 research articles and has presented his findings at numerous international conferences and symposiums. His scholarly contributions include first-author publications in eminent Top-5 and Quartile 1 (Q1) journals in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences, such as Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews (ADDR) and the Journal of Controlled Release (JCR). During his postdoctoral tenure, he skillfully designed and executed innovative projects for PhD and Master’s students, providing them with exemplary supervision.
Dr. Walvekar’s research interests are at the cutting edge of pharmaceutical sciences. His work focuses on the design and development of advanced nano drug/gene delivery systems, including polymeric and lipidic nanoparticles, nano-vesicles, nano-emulsions, suspensions, and gels. He is also deeply involved in the formulation of long-acting vaccines and drug delivery systems aimed at treating infectious diseases, cancer, arthritis, and various other disease conditions.
In addition to his research, Dr. Walvekar is an esteemed reviewer for several international journals. His commitment to academia is reflected in his dedication to training undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students.
